The competition against other teams is both
a reward for hard work in training and a means of judging your own
abilities against those of other Brigades.
Traditionally they were not paid for the time spent at the competition
or training, quite often they put in extra drills to hone their
skills. Of course it has to be balanced against the need to keep
enough staff at home to calls and respond as needed and that counts
as their contribution. But one slip on wet ground can mean loosing
times.
The names of the teams and the times archived illustrate how hard
the competition is.
