Drill at the Station

As a uniformed service the crew want to present a smart routine even at the church, There is of course a formality to lining the entrance to the church and that too needs rehearsing as a public spectacle, hence the foot drill.

Station drills are favoured occasions to question the crew and see their depth of knowledge among other things it will enable the officer in charge to reinforce the official line so you can be sure that chance was not lost.
