This drill involved the workhouse children's
quarters.
It will have served two roles, it will have familiarised the crew
with a high risk area. It may have had a second purpose of allowing
the chair of the council to view the premises without announcing
it .
There had been national press comment about the union in the past
and it was not good news for the council. It is well documented library
books are a convenient source of information
