This was a major turn out involving the Steamer,
Escape Ladder, and Hose Cart.
A brick built premises with tile roof at the rear with an adjoining
thatched cottage built with mud walls (today we would describe as
wattle and daub.)
The fire was quite serious. Surrounding thatch was dampened down
and saved.
The Water Company were asked to turn water pressure on to the
hydrants.
The fire was contained but the contents were severely damaged.
No cause was attributed to the fire.
